Pier. Castlebay
This scene shows a busy pier in Castlebay Barra, with many people and barrels of salted herring, and it is probable that a ferry is expected. The wooden pier was used for both fishing and ferry boats. On the hill behind can be seen stone built houses, with wooden sheds behind the pier.
