RSGS offers a series of Illustrated Talks to both Members and to the wider public at 14 locations throughout Scotland.
Between September and April almost 100 talks are given by speakers who have journeyed the Globe to bring back interesting stories and personal
perspectives from their travels.
Recent highlights include Michael Palin, describing his remarkable adventures while making his series for television,
Nick Crane recounting the great travellers of Britain who brought Geography to the
masses and Rosie Swales-Pope who gave RSGS her first public talks after finishing her epic round the world
run, pioneering explorers Benedict Allen and Colonel John Blashford-Snell,
broadcasters Vanessa Collingridge and Monty Halls, and television geologist Iain Stewart.
RSGS also organise field trips and excursions, both local and international. Previous highlights have included trips
to Antarctica and the southern Atlantic, Kenya and the Cascade Mountains of the US.
Details of our programme for the coming year can be found under Upcoming Events.
