Sprinting Towards Spring
Welcome to the February edition of the RSGS e-news!

In this edition we announce the release of the latest edition of The Geographer 'Health Services' and talk about an exciting new opportunity for a Deputy Chief Executive to join our team in Perth.

We also give an update about our upcoming Inspiring People talks and some of our other upcoming events including GeoQuizzical and Meet the Experts.

We are delighted to announce the release of the newest edition of our magazine, The Geographer! The theme of this edition is Health Services, investigating the health and heart of our health services in the UK and around the world. In this edition we explore how health services are fairing after Covid, comparative perspectives on healthcare, and care amidst the climate crises.

The NHS has been facing ongoing pressures, including stress on staff and resources, and knock-on consequences to the availability of wider-health services. This edition of The Geographer has been created as a small way to offer our thanks to the NHS for all it has done over the past two years, and all it continues to do.

We currently have an exciting opportunity for a new Deputy CEO to join our team in Perth! We are looking for a hard-working, enthusiastic and ambitious individual to support the work of our Chief Executive particularly in expanding RSGS’s public-focused and policy-related work, and in fundraising and financial management.

This is a fast-paced and multi-faceted position with considerable scope for professional and personal development, in an exciting and varied role working for one of Scotland’s most dynamic small charities.
