With Christmas coming, it is a great time to stock up on stocking fillers!

The Geographer 'The Great Outdoors'
We have now published the latest edition of our quarterly magazine, The Geographer. The theme of this edition is 'The Great Outdoors'; where we explored the benefits of escaping to the outdoors, the importance of outdoor learning and some of the best adventures that Scotland has to offer. Plus articles from Levison Wood, Karen Darke, Andy Torbet, Sal Montgomery and many more. We also reflect on some of our recent events and projects at the RSGS, such as our activities for COP26 in Glasgow later this year.
Blog Update

Since our previous blog update, we have continued to diligently post articles, stories and news to our online blog. Some of our recent highlights include:

- 'A Decade of Hope' written by RSGS CEO Mike Robinson who reflects on the hopeful decade we could see if we were all to take definitive action on climate change.

- 'The Fair Maid of Perth: A Tale of Honour and Bloodshed, with a Dash of Geography' written by RSGS Writer-in-Residence Jo Woolf to mark the 250th birthday of Sir Walter Scott. In this fascinating blog, Jo investigates Sir Walter Scott's ties to the RSGS through one of his most popular novels.

- '74 Degrees North' a two-part blog written by mountain climber, polar explorer and Mungo Park Medallist Myrtle Simpson, who reflects on a 3-week canoeing and camping trip with her grandchildren in West Greenland- her idea of the perfect family adventure. Myrtle is also one of our speakers for our 2021-22 Inspiring People talks programme!

All of our blogs are available to read at rsgs.org/blogs.
