The RSGS Glasgow Group was established in 1884; Henry Morton Stanley gave the first public talk, entitled The Congo. There are now 12 RSGS Inspiring People talks held in Glasgow each year.

Events in Glasgow

There are now 12 RSGS Inspiring People talks in Glasgow each year. Six of these talks are given on Thursday afternoons at 2.15pm, and six are given on Wednesday evenings at 7.30pm. Most are held at The Glasgow Academy. However, please check individual event listings for any changes.

Traveller's Talks

Our Local Group in Glasgow host smaller Traveller's Talks throughout the year, featuring stories from friends of RSGS. Entry to talks is £3.00.

Talks are held in the Kirk Lounge, Renfield Centre, 260 Bath Street, Glasgow, G2 4LP, and begin at 7.30pm on Mondays.

• 23rd March 2020: In the Land of the Maya, Guatemala, and Yucatan (Katy Haddock); Marrakesh to Marrakesh (Jack Bairner).
